Lip Corner Lift18
Who do you recommend the Lip Corner Lift for?
At Golden Diamant, we recommend the Goldenview Lip Corner Lift to those with the following concerns: when the horizontal length of the lips is short, giving the impression of a small or stuffy mouth; when the corners of the mouth turn downward, looking droopy even with a neutral expression; when there is left-right asymmetry in the lips or mouth line; when a flat, straight mouth line is an insecurity; when working in service industries that require a smiling impression; and when the lip corners have drooped due to natural aging after age 50.
Lip Corner LiftCan it be done with lip corner fillers or Botox? How does it differ from surgery?
Lip corner procedures work by supplementing insufficient volume at the edges of the lips with filler, and modulating the strength of the muscles that pull the lip corners downward using Botox. Fillers are mainly used when you want to change the shape of the lip corners itself, while Botox is primarily used when you want the corners of the mouth to lift more when smiling or laughing. If the sagging is not severe, or if you feel a strong burden regarding surgery and scarring, non-surgical procedures can be considered first; however, because the effects diminish over time, periodic treatments are required. Conversely, if skin sagging around the mouth is severe, marionette lines are deep, and lower face fat sagging is also present, non-surgical procedures alone may have limitations, so a Lip Corner Lift—which recreates the shape and position of the lip corners through skin excision and muscle repositioning—is considered.
Lip Corner LiftHow is the Goldenview Lip Corner Lift performed?
First, a small triangle-shaped piece of skin around the corner of the mouth is excised according to an individualized design. Next, the pull of the muscle that drags the lip corners downward (depressor anguli oris) is weakened, and the orientation of the muscles acting at both ends of the mouth corners is repositioned. Following that, the lip corner is lifted superolaterally (outward and upward) and finished with specialized micro-suturing to establish a new shape and position for the lip corners. Rather than simply incising, pulling, and stitching the ends of the lip corners, this surgery adjusts the activity and strength of the perioral muscles alongside skin excision to refine the angle of the lip corners and the horizontal length of the lips.
Lip Corner LiftHow is the lip corner design determined? Doesn't everyone end up with a similar shape?
Lip Corner Lift is designed individually by varying the amount of resection and the angle of elevation according to each person's perioral shape. Before designing, we analyze the muscles that make up the perioral area along with the overall facial image to first identify the factors causing asymmetry or sagging. In addition, to find the natural angle of the lips, we observe the lip shape both when sitting and lying down before drawing the design. The most important principle in Lip & Perioral Surgery is avoiding overcorrection, and we aim for balanced and harmonious lip corners tailored to individual proportions.
Lip Corner LiftMy mouth looks small and short. Can a Lip Corner Lift also extend the horizontal length of my lips?
Yes, the Goldenview Lip Corner Lift can adjust the elevation angle and incision amount to lift the lip corners while also adjusting the extension of the horizontal length of the lips. However, extending the horizontal length is not simply a matter of pulling and stretching the corners outward; we must evaluate not only the height of the lip corners, but also the direction they face and their connection to the lateral line of the upper lip. After a Lip Corner Lift, the horizontal length of the mouth becomes slightly larger and the lateral upper lip becomes slightly thicker than before, and once tissue is resected, it is difficult to restore to its original state. Therefore, we accurately identify what needs to be corrected and establish a plan before proceeding without excess. Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Lip Corner LiftMy upper lip is thin or triangular. Is it okay to undergo only a Lip Corner Lift?
If the upper lip is thin or rolled inward, or if it has a triangular shape with a steep slope from the cupid's bow to the lip corners, performing a Lip Corner Lift alone may emphasize only the elevation of the corners, making them look like Joker lips. In such cases, considering the slope and thickness of the lips, a partial Lateral Lip Lift (a method of removing a portion of skin on the lateral upper lip to evert and lift the lip outward) is performed up to the lateral 1/3 point of the upper lip, ensuring that the connecting line between the lip corners and the upper lip flows naturally. If the triangular shape has an excessively steep slope or the upper lip is very thin, a Lateral Lip Lift (lateral philtrum reduction) may be performed instead of a partial lateral lift.
Lip Corner LiftI heard that hollows or wrinkles can develop around the mouth after a Lip Corner Lift?
Yes. Because the skin around the mouth corners tends to fold and indent by the length of the excised skin, and pre-existing horizontal wrinkles that were hidden by the drooping lip corners may become visible after surgery, we prepare for this in advance during the surgical planning stage. In the Goldenview Lip Corner Lift, to reduce hollows and wrinkles around the mouth, we perform dermal grafting (a method of adding volume with dermis under the lip corners, which are prone to hollowing) and wrinkle-prevention incisions. You can choose between artificial dermis and autologous dermis, and autologous dermis is harvested from an area that is not externally exposed. Deep horizontal wrinkles are sometimes removed through a wrinkle excision of around 5mm. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Lip Corner LiftHow long does the surgery take, and what kind of anesthesia is used?
The Goldenview Lip Corner Lift takes about 60-90 minutes and is performed under twilight anesthesia (sedation) or local anesthesia. At Golden Diamant, based on a single-head-director responsible care system, the head director personally conducts everything from lip design to surgery, and after surgery, you will recover in a private single-person recovery room.
Lip Corner LiftWhen are the stitches removed, and when can I wash my face?
Stitches are removed 4-5 days after surgery. Washing your face or showering is possible starting the day after surgery, and you can thinly apply the prescribed antibiotic ointment about 3-4 times a day. After surgery, we provide a customized after-care kit tailored to the procedure, along with prescriptions for scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel.
Lip Corner LiftWhen will the surgical results be visible, and how long does it take to look natural?
The effect of the Goldenview Lip Corner Lift is generally evaluated based on 1 month after surgery. However, for a while after surgery, the surgical site will feel hard and appear reddish, and several months are required for these symptoms to improve and for the area to become soft and natural. This is because the mouth area is constantly moving, so the healing process takes longer than other areas. During that period, it is advisable to avoid opening your mouth too wide or laughing broadly. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Lip Corner LiftDoes a Lip Corner Lift leave a lot of scarring?
Any surgery involving an incision leaves a scar, which is the mark of that incision, and scarring is less a matter of 'whether it exists or not' than 'how noticeable it is.' The corner of the mouth moves frequently, has well-developed sebaceous glands, and is under relatively high tension, which requires meticulous surgery as well as postoperative care. The extent of scarring varies depending on individual skin characteristics and skin tone, precise suturing during surgery, and adherence to postoperative precautions and scar care. If you have had past wounds that did not heal well or have had significant scarring in multiple areas, you should carefully reconsider whether to proceed with surgery. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary from person to person.
Lip Corner LiftHow are scars managed after a Lip Corner Lift?
After surgery, we prescribe scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel along with a customized aftercare kit for each specific procedure. If the medical staff deems it necessary, a scar management program of up to 3 sessions—such as Fraxel laser—is conducted starting from week 2 after surgery. If scarring persists or additional treatment is required thereafter, our medical staff will directly examine the condition and guide you through the necessary methods among more than 6 types of lasers, more than 4 types of medical treatments, and stem cell therapy. While laser treatments cannot make all scars disappear, they are meaningful in aiding skin regeneration.
Lip Corner LiftWhat are the side effects of a Lip Corner Lift?
In addition to bleeding, pain, bruising, and swelling, potential issues that can arise from a Lip Corner Lift include the following: Because skin is removed and sutured under tension, skin puckering may occur along the new lip line, and depression where the lower-outer lip corner deepens can develop. Furthermore, hypertrophic scarring (raised scars), skin discoloration due to tension, linear scarring, worsening of perioral or surrounding wrinkles, and trismus (difficulty opening the mouth) caused by persistent tissue firmness can occur. We thoroughly explain these possibilities before surgery and focus on minimizing their occurrence. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary from person to person.
Lip Corner LiftIs it better to have a philtrum reduction and a lip corner lift together?
It depends on the individual case. When the philtrum is shortened, the center of the upper lip lifts and tooth show increases, which can make the corners of the mouth appear relatively downturned. Therefore, if your lip corners are already turned downward before surgery, having a lip corner lift either concurrently or subsequently should be considered. In particular, if the lateral philtrum is long and the lip corners also point downward, lateral philtrum reduction addresses the 'vertical space' while the Goldenview Lip Corner Lift adjusts the 'horizontal direction and angle,' connecting the two lines. However, we do not recommend having both done simultaneously for everyone. If the lateral philtrum length is appropriate and only the lip corners are downturned, a lip corner lift alone may be sufficient. If the lip corners are already turned upward significantly, if there is substantial tooth show, or if there is a tendency toward protruding mouth, we take a more conservative approach.
Lip Corner LiftCan men also undergo a lip corner lift? Is anything viewed differently compared to women?
Yes, you can. Rather than aiming to lift the lip corners significantly to create a smiling appearance, men often consider a lip corner lift to naturally extend a narrow horizontal width and correct left-right asymmetry. The most important aspect of a male lip corner lift is not overdoing it. Therefore, we generally design a lower lifting angle compared to women and make the change in the angle where the upper and lower lips meet as natural as possible.
Lip Corner LiftDo the effects of a Lip Corner Lift last a long time? Will the corners sag again?
Because a Lip Corner Lift works against gravity, fixation is not easy. Therefore, Goldenview Lip Corner Lift does not simply stop at incising, lifting, and suturing the mouth corners; it weakens the power of the depressor anguli oris muscles that pull the corners down, rearranges the direction of the muscles, and finishes with micro-suturing. However, even after surgery, your lip shape may change over time as skin sagging occurs with aging. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Lip Corner LiftWhat is evaluated during the consultation? Does the head surgeon perform the surgery personally?
Goldenview Lip Corner Lift is conducted under the responsible care of a single head surgeon, who personally handles everything from lip design to the surgery. During the consultation, we do not look only at the height of the mouth corners, but also evaluate lip thickness, mouth corner direction, tooth exposure, chin tension, and nasolabial/marionette lines together. Because a Lip Corner Lift cannot be the same solution for every case, the process of accurately identifying your current lip structure and concerns is important, and we thoroughly explain the expected post-operative results, potential issues that may arise, and measures to address them.
Lip Corner LiftIf I get a Lip Corner Lift, will it create buccal corridors (a wide, open smile) when I laugh?
It may or may not appear. Buccal corridors refer to an open, refreshed smile where dark spaces are visible inside the corners of the mouth when smiling. While a Lip Corner Lift can make the mouth corner area sharper and allow the corners to rise higher by weakening the depressor anguli oris muscles, for individuals whose muscles that pull up the mouth corners are relatively weak, the buccal corridors may not appear as prominently as expected. It is not possible to create prominent buccal corridors for everyone, so please understand that it simply increases the likelihood of buccal corridors being visible compared to before surgery, allowing the smile to look a bit more open and refreshed. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Lip Corner LiftGolden Diamant Philtrum Reduction23
How can I tell if my philtrum is on the longer side? Is there an ideal ratio?
At Golden Diamant, we consider facial balance to be natural and the facial features to stand out when the ratio of philtrum length to chin length is 1:2, and we use this ratio as a guideline. However, 1:2 is merely a guideline, and it may be adjusted slightly depending on each individual's facial balance and lip shape. Whether the philtrum appears long cannot be determined by measurements alone; the height of the columella, the angle of the columella, the thickness of the upper lip, the degree of tooth show, and usual facial expression habits must also be evaluated together. Therefore, rather than simply shortening it unconditionally, we first examine the balance of the entire face.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionWho is a good candidate for the Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction (subnasal incision)?
Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction is suitable for individuals without maxillary protrusion or mandibular retrusion, whose philtrum skin is longer than the length of the maxilla (cases where the philtrum skin appears to cover the upper teeth). It is well-suited for those with moderate lip thickness and no drooping mouth corners, and it is a method designed for those concerned about a long philtrum of 20mm or more. Conversely, if you have severely oily skin or a keloidal skin constitution, you should make the decision to undergo surgery after careful consideration.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionWhy do you check my smiling expression during a philtrum reduction consultation?
Even if the philtrum appears long at rest, there are individuals whose upper lip lifts significantly when smiling, fully revealing the teeth and gums. Because philtrum reduction alters the position of the upper lip and can expose more of the upper front teeth, we evaluate the lips in a relaxed state, a gentle smiling state, and a wide smiling state together. We do not plan a substantial philtrum reduction solely because the lips normally appear thin. If you are preparing for a consultation, it is also helpful to bring unedited frontal photos along with photos of your natural smile.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionWhat is the principle behind Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction?
Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction completely separates the nasal tissue and philtrum tissue, which have different thicknesses and tissue characteristics, and then fixes and sutures using the philtrum tissue as an anchor point. Next, the muscle is shortened and sutured, and the tissue at the incision site is reinforced to prevent indentation, aiming to reduce post-operative scarring and nasal deformities such as alar flaring. A lateral upper lip lift is performed concurrently to minimize the effect of only the center of the lip being lifted, and the surgical plan is designed so that a natural philtral dimple (column) is formed in the process.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionWho is a good candidate for Lip-Line Philtrum Reduction?
Lip-Line Philtrum Reduction is a method that excises the upper border of the upper lip in a seagull-wing shape to address both a long philtrum and a thin upper lip simultaneously, serving also as an upper Lip Augmentation. It can be performed for individuals with thin lips where the outer lip curls inward, cases where the central lip is lifted, those who are prone to scarring or sensitive to scars, or cases where nasal deformation is anticipated from a subnasal incision. Usually, because the center of the upper lip is thicker than the lateral sides, a larger excision amount is allocated to the outer sides to balance the lips.
Lip-Line Philtrum ReductionDoes Lip-Line Philtrum Reduction make the lips too large or thick?
When reducing the philtrum through a lip-line incision, if the central area is reduced significantly, the lip will enlarge by that corresponding amount, which may disrupt facial proportions. In addition, an angle may form along a previously gentle lip line, making the lip corners appear downturned, and the process of excising skin at the lip line and everting it outward can shift the inner mucosa, causing the lower lateral lip line to thicken. For this reason, the design is tailored to each individual's condition, and depending on the lip line and the desired extent of philtrum reduction, a Lip Corner Lift or lateral upper lip reduction (curtain-line reduction) may be performed concurrently or added. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Lip-Line Philtrum ReductionWho is a good candidate for Subnasal Philtrum Reduction?
Subnasal Philtrum Reduction is a method that reduces the philtrum by making an incision at the central area beneath the nose and lifting the center of the lip. It is recommended for those whose outer upper lip is not heavily curled inward and whose lip thickness is not excessively thin; because the columella lowers during surgery, it is suitable for individuals with a retracted columella. Conversely, it is not recommended as a primary choice if the columella is already sufficiently low, if there is significant upper front tooth show, or if the upper lip is already noticeably lifted. As this surgery involves incising and suturing a small area, the surgeon's skill and experience are essential.
Subnasal Philtrum ReductionHow is Hybrid Philtrum Reduction performed?
Hybrid Philtrum Reduction is an approach planned in stages by combining two surgical methods: a central subnasal incision and a lateral lip lift. In step 1, a tailored incision is made in the central area beneath the nose to lift the center of the lip, achieving the primary philtrum reduction. In step 2, a Lateral Lip Lift is performed to complement the philtrum reduction while improving lip volume and sagging lips. Rather than merely reducing philtrum length, it is a surgery that addresses philtrum reduction, lip volume, and sagging step by step.
Hybrid Philtrum ReductionWho is a good candidate for Hybrid Philtrum Reduction, and are there any precautions to consider?
It is an effective method if you have a long philtrum combined with an inward-curled outer upper lip, as it can improve both concerns together. It is also well-suited for cases where the columella is retracted, the outer lips are curled inward, and the lip corners appear slightly upturned. However, because the columella may appear to descend, Golden Diamant philtrum reduction may be performed instead of a central subnasal incision when necessary. In addition, because a Lateral Lip Lift is included, the lip corners may relatively appear less upturned; in such cases, a Lip Corner Lift or non-surgical procedure may be combined, or vermilion border Lip Augmentation may be performed instead of a Lateral Lip Lift.
Hybrid Philtrum ReductionWhat kind of method is Tetra Scarless Philtrum Reduction?
Tetra Scarless Philtrum Reduction is a method where, without cutting the external skin, an incision of approximately 5~7mm is made on the inner side of the columella inside both nostrils, and the philtrum tissue is secured from the inside to the periosteum. Conventional scarless philtrum reduction had limitations in that the visible change was relatively subtle and the fixation strength could weaken over time. To address this, Golden Diamant applies a technique that secures the tissue in a total of 4 layers. Because it holds the philtrum tissue across multiple layers, it is designed so that the fixation does not easily loosen even with repetitive lip movements when speaking or smiling. Patients can expect a change that makes the philtrum appear shorter while reducing the burden of external skin incisions. Additionally, depending on the individual, an effect where the central philtral groove appears slightly more defined may also be observed.
Tetra Scarless Philtrum ReductionJust as the name 'scarless' suggests, do I not need to worry about scars?
'Tetra Scarless' is the name of the surgical procedure. While the name alone might make it sound as though there are no visible scars at all, in reality, it is a method performed by making incisions inside both nostrils. By avoiding incisions on the external skin, it aims to reduce the burden of scarring, swelling, and aftercare. However, just as important as concealing scars is ensuring that the subnasal structure remains natural; therefore, we carefully monitor to ensure that the subnasal tissue does not flatten and that the nostrils do not appear larger. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
Tetra Scarless Philtrum ReductionHow much can the philtrum be shortened with Tetra Scarless, and how long do the results last?
Tetra Scarless Philtrum Reduction differs from incisional philtrum reduction in the extent of its effect and the resulting postoperative shape. Therefore, it is recommended for those who desire a slight change in philtrum length and a subtle lift of the upper lip; it is suitable if you want a natural reduction of about 2-3mm, and is not recommended if you wish to reduce it by 5mm or more. Although multi-layered composite suturing is used to reduce loosening caused by lip movement and thereby extend the duration of the results, during consultations we also inform patients that because it relies on thread fixation, it is not a procedure with permanent effects. Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Tetra Scarless Philtrum ReductionWhich is better: a method that leaves less visible scarring, or a method that makes an incision beneath the nose?
It is difficult to say that either one is unconditionally better. A method designed to make scars less visible has the advantage of minimizing scar exposure, while a method involving a subnasal incision is well-suited for directly adjusting during surgery not only the philtrum length, but also upper lip lift, C-curl, tooth show, the angle of the mouth corners, and subnasal volume. Therefore, rather than focusing on the name of the surgical technique, we decide by first evaluating whether scar concealment or structural adjustment is what your face needs more.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionHow much can the philtrum be shortened at one time?
The amount of reduction is not determined uniformly, but is decided according to facial proportions and the surgical technique. This is because excessively reducing the philtrum places heavy tension on the suture area, which can make scars more noticeable or cause the shape beneath the nose and the lips to look unnatural. Looking by surgical technique: Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction is an approach for those concerned about a long philtrum of 20mm or more; Subnasal Philtrum Reduction is guided as a method capable of a reduction of up to 5~12mm; and Tetra Scarless Philtrum Reduction is recommended when a slight change in philtrum length is desired. Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionWhat are the surgery times and anesthesia types for philtrum reduction?
They vary by surgical technique. The surgery time is 2 hours for Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction, 1-2 hours each for Lip-Line Philtrum Reduction and Subnasal Philtrum Reduction, 2-3 hours for Hybrid Philtrum Reduction, and 30 minutes for Tetra Scarless Philtrum Reduction. For all five surgical techniques, anesthesia is administered as sleep anesthesia / local anesthesia. Which technique to apply is decided during the consultation based on your individual condition.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionHow long does swelling last after philtrum reduction, and for how long should I be careful?
Based on Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction (subnasal incision), swelling and pain may persist for at least several days up to about 1-2 weeks. It is important to apply cold compresses with an ice pack for a few days after surgery, switch to warm compresses after one week, minimize external irritation, and get plenty of rest. Drinking alcohol and smoking must be avoided for 2-3 weeks before and after surgery, and caution is also needed regarding secondhand smoke or nicotine patches. For 1-2 months after surgery, the surgical site may stretch and widen the scar, so please be careful with opening your mouth widely, laughing out loud, or engaging in strenuous strength training. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionWhat factors influence philtrum reduction scars?
Because philtrum reduction involving an incision inevitably leaves a scar, the goal is to minimize scarring. The scar is not determined by the incision line position alone; it is influenced by how much the philtrum was reduced, where tension is applied, how much the surgical area pulls when moving the mouth, and whether tissue fixation is stable. Therefore, rather than focusing solely on the amount reduced, we place great importance on stably fixing the internal tissues so that the sutured area is not forcefully pulled, aiming to reduce scars through multi-layer suturing and periosteal fixation techniques. An individual's skin characteristics, post-operative care, and habits involving frequent movement also affect scarring. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionHow is scar management handled after philtrum reduction?
After surgery, we provide a customized after-care kit for each surgical method and prescribe scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel. After the stitches are removed, medical-grade skin glue or taping is applied for one week to reduce tissue separation during the early regeneration phase, and antibiotic ointment or moisturizer is applied frequently to untaped areas to prevent drying. If deemed necessary by the medical staff, a scar management program including Fraxel laser is conducted up to 3 times starting from the 2nd week after surgery. If scarring persists afterward, we guide you through necessary options among more than 6 types of lasers, more than 4 types of medical treatments, and stem cell therapy.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionDoes philtrum reduction cause the nose to widen or change the shape of the nostrils?
Subnasal philtrum reduction is not a surgery that directly alters the nasal bones or nasal cartilages; however, because the incision and fixation are performed along the subnasal border and the soft tissue of the upper lip moves upward, the impression of the lower nose may appear different. Golden Diamant Philtrum Reduction aims to reduce alar flaring and nostril floor deformation by utilizing a surgical technique that prevents depression of the subnasal sill tissue. If you originally have wider alae or distinct asymmetry, even minor changes may feel more noticeable, and if you are planning rhinoplasty or have already had it, the surgical order and design must be determined individually. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionI heard you can get 'penguin lips' after philtrum reduction. Is that true?
When the philtrum is shortened, the center of the upper lip is elevated to some extent. However, if only the center is excessively lifted, the lip line can look sharply bent into an inverted 'V' shape, and the lips may appear unnaturally parted. In particular, lip shapes where the central portion of the lip is already elevated before surgery may experience more pronounced lifting like penguin lips after the procedure, so thorough consultation is required. At Golden Diamant, to prevent only the center from being lifted, we design the procedure so that the central 2/3 of the upper lip rises naturally, and we seek to reduce changes in lip slope by combining it with lateral upper lip lifting. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionCan the lip corners look downturned after philtrum reduction?
That can happen. When the philtrum is shortened, the center of the upper lip rises and tooth exposure increases, which changes the inclination of the upper lip line and can make the lip corners appear relatively drawn downward. Rather than indicating that the surgery went wrong, this is a structural change that can appear after philtrum reduction. Therefore, for those whose lip corners are already downturned before surgery or appear downturned with a neutral expression, we evaluate whether philtrum reduction alone is sufficient or whether auxiliary procedures such as a Lip Corner Lift, corner lip Botox, or fillers are necessary. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionCan the philtrum lengthen again after surgery, or are there cases where revision surgery is necessary?
Yes, there are. Philtrum revision surgeries largely fall into two categories: cases where the philtrum length becomes similar to the pre-operative state over time, and cases where thin vertical scars or widened hypertrophic scars develop. The extent to which the philtrum lengthens again can vary depending on an individual's skin elasticity, soft tissue thickness, and the surgeon's technique. Revision surgery must take into account the extent of tissue damage, the size and type of the scar, and the condition and flexibility of the skin combined from the previous surgery, making a preservation-focused surgery that minimizes unnecessary muscle damage essential.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionCan philtrum reduction and lip surgery or procedures be performed together?
They can be planned together. Depending on the lip line and the desired extent of philtrum reduction, a Lip Corner Lift or upper lateral lip reduction (curtain line reduction) can be performed together or added. There are also techniques such as the Hybrid Philtrum Reduction that incorporate a Lateral Lip Lift. Another approach is to use AU Line lip filler to achieve the final balance and volume for an upper lip that has become plumper and elevated after philtrum reduction. Operating on the lips and philtrum separately can affect the overall facial proportions, so we view the philtrum and lips as a single aesthetic unit and design them together.
Golden Diamant Philtrum ReductionPerioral Revision Surgery11
When can revision surgery be performed after the primary surgery?
It is advisable to consider revision surgery at least 6 months after the initial surgery. This is because it must be performed once the surgical tissues have stabilized, the scar tissue at the surgical site has softened rather than remaining hard, and the swelling has subsided. Accurate diagnosis is only possible after the tissues have stabilized and the swelling has resolved; until then, scar treatment is administered first while monitoring progress. Depending on the condition of the scar, the decision may be made after continuing scar treatment for an even longer period.
Perioral Revision SurgeryIt hasn't been long since my surgery, but I don't like the shape. Should I have revision surgery right away?
It is best not to rush. In the early stages after surgery, swelling and bruising are present, and the tissues are still firm, making it difficult to judge the final shape; an accurate diagnosis is only possible once the tissues have stabilized and the swelling has subsided. Even if issues such as scarring or depression are visible, you should first undergo non-surgical treatments such as medication or laser therapy and observe changes over sufficient time before deciding whether to proceed with surgery. This is because making a hasty decision for surgery can actually worsen the condition. There are also cases where the condition improves with laser or medical treatment, making surgery unnecessary.
Perioral Revision SurgeryI'm bothered by the scar. Should I get revision surgery or scar revision surgery?
We first evaluate the condition after you undergo scar treatment for about 6 months. If, after that period, the scarred area is large, the shape of the scar is noticeable, or the mouth shape has changed due to the scar, revision surgery is recommended. Surgery to remove scars around the mouth does not simply involve excising the scar; it requires redraping the tissues and suturing them in multiple layers from the deeper tissue upward so that the same tension does not recur, making it virtually equivalent to a revision surgery. The scars that primarily cause issues around the mouth are spread-out planar scars and raised hypertrophic scars.
Perioral Revision SurgeryWhat do you evaluate before revision surgery?
Revision surgery is not simply repeating the first surgery; it is a process of redesigning balance by analyzing the remaining tissue and facial movements within an already altered structure. Therefore, we do not look only at frontal resting photos, but also examine which areas pull more when the mouth is closed, when smiling, and when speaking. Then, we determine whether the lip corners need to be lifted further, whether the horizontal length and outer lip line should be adjusted together, whether scarring and contracture need to be addressed first, or whether non-surgical procedures or observation are more appropriate than surgery. We also thoroughly consult on what can be improved through revision surgery and what cannot be corrected.
Perioral Revision SurgeryThe corners of my mouth are lifted too much and look like the 'Joker.' Can this be corrected?
Excessively upturned mouth corners are a representative issue addressed in Perioral Revision Surgery. When only the tips of the mouth corners are sharply raised, the line leading from the center of the upper lip to the corner can appear excessively bent. Therefore, in revision surgery, rather than simply lowering the mouth corners, we design them so that they naturally reconnect with the surrounding lip line. If necessary, we also use a method of removing part of the outer upper lip skin to evert (turn outward) the lip and reduce the sharp angle. Where and how it connects is more important than simply raising it significantly. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Perioral Revision SurgeryIs all scar tissue removed during revision surgery?
We do not forcibly remove all of it. Once any tissue is excised, it is difficult to restore, and even scar tissue may be necessary to maintain structural shape. For this reason, we only trim the necessary extent of scar tissue and proceed with the surgery considering the overall shape. I believe the key to perioral revision surgery is to restore while preserving tissue as much as possible to minimize damage. When finishing, we also perform meticulous suturing to ensure that excessive tension is not concentrated on the suture site.
Perioral Revision SurgeryHow are depressions, wrinkles, or pulling sensations that occurred after the first surgery restored?
Morphological and functional problems caused by depressions, wrinkles, or scar contracture (a condition where scar tissue hardens and pulls) are restored by utilizing methods suited to the individual's condition, such as dermis grafts, flap surgery, fat grafting, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and stem cell therapy. Next, with thorough hemostasis and precise suturing, the tissue is stably and meticulously secured again, aiming to rebuild the surgical direction you originally desired. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Perioral Revision SurgeryCan revision surgery completely restore my lips to how they were before the first surgery?
It is difficult. Because tissue that has once been excised is difficult to completely restore to its original state, the first surgery is critical. Revision surgery requires a higher level of surgical skill than the initial surgery because damaged skin tissue must be taken into account, and available spare tissue may be scarcer than in the first surgery. Therefore, rather than unconditionally aiming for a major change, we assess the range that can realistically be improved from the current condition; if the improvement from surgery will not be significant, it may be better not to rush into revision surgery. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Perioral Revision SurgeryMy mouth became too wide after a Lip Corner Lift. Can it be reduced again?
Because a Lip Corner Lift removes skin at the outer corners of the mouth to lengthen the horizontal width, there is virtually no way to restore a lengthened mouth to its original length. However, if the outer ends of the upper lip evert and thicken after a Lip Corner Lift, the mouth may appear even wider horizontally; in such cases, a curtain-line reduction—excising the outer mucosa of the upper lip—can make the mouth appear visually less wide. It is advisable to decide on correction after observing progress over a certain period and having a thorough consultation. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Perioral Revision SurgeryAfter my Lip Corner Lift, my upper lip became thicker and the corners of my lower lip became thinner. Can this be corrected?
In a Lip Corner Lift, triangular sections of skin on the outer upper lip are excised and the lip corners are elevated and sutured, which can slightly lengthen the mouth horizontally, cause the outer upper lip to evert and thicken, and pull up the corners of the lower lip, making them appear thinner. If the upper lip is narrow, curled inward, or shaped like an inverted V, this phenomenon can be even more pronounced. Correction is performed either through a curtain-line lip reduction, which appropriately reduces only the outer upper lip that has everted outward, or through mucosal advancement, which advances the inner mucosa of the thinned outer lower lip outward. The two procedures do not necessarily have to be performed together, but they may be performed simultaneously depending on the case. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Perioral Revision SurgeryI had surgery at another clinic; can I still have a revision consultation? What should I prepare?
Yes, there are patients who undergo revision surgery at Golden Diamant after having perioral surgery at another clinic. Because the size and characteristics of scars, the degree of skin damage, and the method of the previous surgery vary from person to person, revision surgery cannot be planned with a one-size-fits-all approach and must be tailored individually. Therefore, it is helpful to bring pre- and post-operative photos, as well as reference photos of the look you wish to achieve, to your consultation. The head surgeon directly oversees everything from design to surgery, and will also discuss the potential for any additional issues associated with revision surgery along with their solutions.
Perioral Revision SurgeryLip Filler7
Can my lips be improved with filler, or do I need surgery?
First, we distinguish whether there is a lack of lip volume or if the mouth area appears horizontally short. Lip filler can be a useful option if there is insufficient volume, if the vermilion border is blurred, or if there is a volume difference between the left and right sides. Conversely, for tight lips with little mucosal laxity, adding filler may cause them to protrude like a duck bill rather than enlarging overall; furthermore, if there is sufficient volume but the lips appear horizontally short, or if the concern lies in the position and direction of the lip corners, other anatomical structures must be evaluated together. That does not mean everyone requires surgery, so during the consultation, we clearly explain what can and cannot be achieved with filler.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerWhat criteria are used to determine the lip filler design?
At Golden Diamant, we refer to a 4:6 ratio between the upper and lower lips, volume in the central area, and an angle of about 10° at the Cupid's bow as reference criteria for design. However, we do not apply this ratio uniformly to every face. For example, for someone with elegant eyes, a small nose, a round face shape, and a horizontally short yet plump lower lip, excessively injecting filler into the upper lip just to match the golden ratio can make only the lips stand out and disrupt overall facial harmony. Therefore, during a 1:1 consultation, we first listen to your face shape and desired volume and proportions, and then design within a natural, moderate range.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerWhat kind of filler do you use? Can I verify that it is genuine?
Because the lips are an area with many capillaries, we use fine and soft Juvederm line fillers for Cupid's Bow Lip Filler, and Juvederm or Belotero fillers with fine, uniform particles for the AU line filler. All procedures are strictly performed using genuine products and exact quantities, so please feel free to let us know at any time if you wish to verify them prior to the procedure. We use single-use microcannulas—which have blunt tips and disperse the product through the side of the needle—to minimize skin damage, and we never reuse single-use syringes that come into contact with the skin. Procedural supplies such as gauze and cotton are sterilized daily in an autoclave, and the injections are performed directly by a board-certified plastic surgeon who understands skin anatomy.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerIs anesthesia used for lip filler? How long is the procedure, and when can I return to daily life?
Cupid's Bow Lip Filler is performed after applying topical anesthetic cream (numbing cream), and the procedure takes 10~30 minutes. Injections are administered using a blunt-tipped, single-use microcannula to minimize skin damage. The results can be seen immediately after the procedure, and you can return to your daily routine right away. Minor bruising and swelling may occur after the procedure, but they will fade naturally over time. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerHow long do swelling and bruising last after lip filler, and what precautions should I take?
Mild bruising and swelling may occur after the procedure and will subside naturally over time. Lip filler involves multiple injections and molding work, so it may initially appear overfilled due to swelling; however, the swelling typically subsides and the filler settles after 1~2 weeks. You may apply makeup or wash your face after 2~3 hours, and please avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas, meridian massage, and strenuous exercise for about 1 week. It is advisable to refrain from massages that press firmly on the treated area for about 2~3 days. The degree of swelling and bruising, as well as the recovery period, may vary depending on the individual.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerWhat are the side effects of lip filler? Can it be dissolved if I don't like the result?
Common side effects are bruising and bleeding, and if a blood vessel is affected, bruising can last for more than 1~2 weeks. If excessive volume is injected into lips with insufficient mucosal laxity, they may protrude and look like a duck beak. A very serious side effect is necrosis, which can occur if the filler blocks a blood vessel. If you have previously undergone lip surgery, the procedure requires greater caution, so please be sure to inform us beforehand. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be removed when necessary using a dissolving injection (hyaluronidase). However, since the lips may look enlarged immediately after the procedure due to swelling, we allow time for the filler to settle before making an assessment. The occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerWhat is the head doctor's experience and training background in filler and Botox procedures?
I am a board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed Lip & Perioral Surgery for more than 20 years, personally handling everything from consultation to treatment at Golden Diamant. Regarding filler and Botox, I have served as an instructor for Juvederm and Allergan Botox procedure training, as well as an instructor on fillers for medical professionals. I have presented on botulinum at the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and I published a clinical guide on Belotero lip procedures for medical practitioners. Even in educational settings, I place great importance on reviewing the course of blood vessels and injection depths together with my colleagues. This is because I believe that the trust that allows you to confidently entrust your face is just as important as the clinical results.
Cupid's Bow Lip FillerMACS Lift6
What kind of surgery is the MACS lift?
The MACS lift is a type of facelift that uses minimal incisions to pull up the SMAS layer (facial expression muscle layer) beneath the skin, firmly restoring elasticity to sagging and drooping skin. After making a minimal incision along the natural creases from the front of the ear to behind the ear, delicate dissection is performed to separate the SMAS layer. The sagging SMAS layer is sufficiently pulled up, and excess tissue is removed. At this point, the soft tissues, including the SMAS and the platysma muscle in the neck area, are looped with non-absorbable sutures and anchored to the firm deep temporal fascia in front of the ear. Finally, the incision site is meticulously sutured and dressed to complete the procedure.
MACS LiftWho is a good candidate for the MACS lift? Can people in their 20~30s undergo it as well?
It is recommended for individuals whose cheeks and facial contours have sagged due to aging and who are also concerned about neck wrinkles, as well as those who found it difficult to improve wrinkles with Botox, laser treatments, or thread lifts. It is also suitable for those who desire long-lasting firm lifting results while seeking a surgical method with a fast recovery. It is a surgery recommended not only for middle-aged and older individuals, but also for those in their 20~30s who wish to improve skin elasticity, such as sagging cheeks or a double chin line. Whether it is genuinely suitable for you is determined during a 1:1 personalized consultation by assessing your individual condition and desired direction.
MACS LiftWhere are the incisions made for a MACS lift, and what will the scars be like?
Incisions are minimized by following the natural creases from the front to the back of the ear. This method aims to lessen the burden of scarring by reducing the incision size compared to conventional facelifts, and scar-prevention medication and scar-treatment gel are prescribed after surgery. If deemed necessary by the medical staff, a scar management program utilizing treatments such as Fraxel laser is provided up to 3 times starting from the 2nd week post-surgery. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
MACS LiftWhat kind of anesthesia is used for a MACS lift, and how long does the surgery take?
The MACS lift is performed under sleep anesthesia (sedation), and the surgery time is about 2~4 hours. The head representative surgeon personally conducts everything from the lifting design to the surgery, performing the operation based on an individualized, custom lifting design. After surgery, you can use a private single-patient recovery room.
MACS LiftWhen are the stitches removed after a MACS lift, and how long does recovery take?
Stitches are removed 5~7 days after surgery, and the recovery period is typically guided as about 1~2 weeks. You will need to visit the clinic approximately 3~5 times, and during each visit, we check your recovery progress and continue with necessary care. We provide a customized aftercare kit tailored to the surgery and monitor the recovery process together through a systematic post-surgery management system. Results and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
MACS LiftMy cheeks are somewhat sunken; can a MACS lift also restore volume?
Lifting surgery pulls and elevates the skin, so it cannot increase volume under the cheekbones. Therefore, if there is a lack of volume in the side cheeks, we plan to combine the lifting surgery with fat grafting or a subsequent filler procedure. For additional procedures like fillers, it is advisable to proceed after basic swelling has subsided and the tissue has softened. During the consultation, we evaluate skin elasticity, fat distribution, and the degree of sagging together to determine the right combination. Results and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
MACS LiftNeck Lift / Double Chin Muscle Suspension8
What kind of surgery is a double chin muscle tying and neck lift?
It is a surgical procedure that suctions and removes fat accumulated under the chin, pulls and ties the muscles on both sides to secure the jawline once more, and, if necessary, pulls up sagging skin to improve both the jawline and neck wrinkles. The components are 'double chin liposuction + muscle tying ± lifting excision/suspension.' Unlike conventional lifting that only pulled and fixed sagging skin, this is a lower face (chin/neck) lift focused on doubly securing the V-line through fat removal and muscle tying.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionHow is the decision made between doing only muscle tying versus also doing a neck lift?
The basic process involves making an incision of about 1cm in an inconspicuous area under the chin (hidden incision), suctioning subcutaneous fat, and pulling and tying the muscles on both sides. Depending on the choice, the step of making an incision along the creases from the front of the ear to the back, pulling up to the SMAS layer to lift the jawline and neckline, and removing and suturing sagging skin can be added. After assessing skin wrinkles, age, and the degree of elasticity, the extent of the stages to proceed with is decided individually during a 1:1 consultation.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionWhy perform liposuction together when just doing a lift could be enough?
If only the skin and SMAS layer are pulled without removing submental fat, the effect may be minimal, and in particular, deep neck wrinkles are likely not to improve. Therefore, at Golden Diamant, we plan the sequence by first performing submental liposuction, tying the muscles to define the contour, and then lifting, aiming to bring you closer to a smooth neckline and V-line. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionCan't this be resolved with double chin injections (contouring injections)?
When a double chin is already accompanied by sagging skin, it is difficult to achieve your expected improvement with contouring injections alone. This is because after fat cells are broken down, the remaining sagging skin may actually become more pronounced. In cases where both submental fat and sagging skin along the jawline are present, we may recommend double chin muscle plication surgery after a consultation. This surgery aims to improve lower facial wrinkles and double chin by tightening both the sagging skin and stretched muscles together. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionI have neck wrinkles. I'm wondering if fillers or Botox will be enough, or if surgery will be necessary.
The approach for neck wrinkles can vary depending on whether they are horizontal or vertical lines. For horizontal neck lines formed where the skin folds, we consider hyaluronic acid fillers specifically designed for neck wrinkles; for vertical neck bands that become prominent due to excessive contraction of the platysma muscle, Botox is considered. However, when wrinkles deepen with aging and fat accumulates under the chin, fillers or Skin Boosters alone may not be sufficient, so we consult regarding surgical options such as neck liposuction, double chin muscle plication, or a neck lift. In particular, deep neck wrinkles cannot be resolved by a neck lift alone, requiring a process of tightening after submental liposuction.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionWill sagging cheek fat or marionette lines also improve together?
In addition to sagging chin fat, double chin fat, and neck wrinkles, sagging cheek tissue, prominent buccal fat, and marionette lines also fall within the scope addressed in this surgery. By adding a lift that pulls up and anchors the SMAS layer, we aim to simultaneously improve cheek sagging, nasolabial folds, jawline, and neck wrinkles. However, because marionette lines involve tissues tethered by retaining ligaments as well as localized volume deficits that are difficult to resolve through lifting alone, we can combine the procedure with fillers for hollow areas or Botox to the mentalis and depressor anguli oris muscles if necessary. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionWhere are the incisions made, and will they leave scars?
The basic incision is a hidden incision of about 1cm placed under the chin where it is barely visible, and if a neck lift is performed together, the incision is made along the wrinkles from the front of the ear to the back. At Golden Diamant, all incisions are placed in inconspicuous areas as hidden incisions, aiming to reduce the burden of scarring through minimal incisions and micro-suturing. After surgery, scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel are prescribed, and post-care continues with a scar program if necessary. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionAre there any precautions to take after double chin muscle plication and neck lift?
After surgery, please apply ice packs frequently to reduce swelling and pain, and it is recommended to apply warm compresses starting from 4~5 days after surgery. Keeping your head elevated above your heart when sleeping helps the swelling subside more quickly. Please avoid jogging, swimming, and meridian massages for up to 6 weeks, and refrain from drinking and smoking as they slow down recovery. Recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Neck Lift / Double Chin Muscle SuspensionMCT Stem Cell Therapy6
What kind of procedure is the MCT stem cell injection?
The MCT stem cell injection is a procedure performed using a stem cell extraction system utilizing the Meta Cell technology of MCT (meta cell technology). Through a process using a constant temperature and specific light beams in dedicated devices and units, autologous stem cell Exosome extract is obtained and administered into the body via skin injections and intravenous (IV) injections. At Golden Diamant, we design and perform IV injections and skin injections together, considering anti-aging effects.
MCT Stem Cell TherapyIs my own blood used? What is the sequence of the procedure?
Yes, your own blood is used. First, autologous blood is drawn, stem cell Exosomes are separated from the blood using a specialized device, and then they are injected using the method required for each patient. It is a procedure performed via blood draw and injection without incisions, and Golden Diamant currently operates two stem cell injection programs: 50ML and 100ML.
MCT Stem Cell TherapyHow is the administration divided between intravenous (IV) injection and skin injection?
Golden Diamant's MCT stem cell injection is designed to allow both intravenous and intradermal (skin) injections. Rather than uniformly applying a fixed method, we determine how to inject into the skin and veins after identifying your areas of concern during consultation. I personally handle everything from consultation to the procedure, and I also oversee the treatment design and subsequent follow-up care.
MCT Stem Cell TherapyWho do you recommend the MCT stem cell injection to?
At Golden Diamant, we recommend a consultation for those who desire overall improvement in skin texture along with wrinkle reduction, as well as those seeking anti-aging benefits for blood vessels and cells. The procedure aims for anti-aging effects that improve skin texture and reduce wrinkles by stimulating the synthesis of collagen and elastin. However, results may vary depending on the individual, so whether to proceed with the procedure is decided after evaluating your current condition during consultation.
MCT Stem Cell TherapyCan I receive it if I am undergoing cancer treatment or have a tumor?
At Golden Diamant, we do not perform MCT stem cell injections on cancer or tumor patients. Because stem cells have the characteristic of cellular differentiation and activation, our clinic excludes individuals in these categories from treatment. If you have a relevant medical or treatment history, please inform us in advance during your consultation.
MCT Stem Cell TherapyWhat side effects can occur after stem cell injections?
After an MCT stem cell injection, side effects such as pain or swelling at the injection site may occur. The occurrence of side effects can vary depending on the individual, and recovery times may also differ. At Golden Diamant, we do not simply finish with the procedure; we continuously monitor and care for your progress afterward.
MCT Stem Cell TherapyRegenera Activa5
What kind of procedure is Regenera Activa?
Regenera Activa is a procedure in which stem cells, progenitor cells, growth factors, and extracellular matrix are extracted from the hair follicles, dermis, and subcutaneous fat of the occipital area (back of the head) and directly injected into the scalp where hair loss is progressing. It is an autologous micro-grafting procedure that uses a small amount of your own tissue, and at Golden Diamant, we recommend this method for early to mid-stage hair loss. We establish a treatment plan by examining each individual's scalp condition and the degree of hair loss progression.
Regenera ActivaHow is the Regenera Activa procedure performed, and how long does it take?
After harvesting a small amount of autologous tissue from the occipital area (back of the head), 'micro-autologous follicle cells' are extracted through mechanical disaggregation using a specialized Regenera Activa kit, and then directly injected into areas experiencing hair loss. This method extracts dermis without incisions and finishes with injections without requiring stitches, and we advise that the procedure takes about 20 minutes.
Regenera ActivaIs tissue from the back of the head harvested anew for each treatment session?
Once dermal cells are extracted from the occipital area (back of the head), they can be used for 2~3 treatment sessions, so tissue is not newly harvested at every session. At Golden Diamant, we establish a treatment plan tailored to the progression of hair loss and provide continuous follow-up care, performing follicle-strengthening procedures (scalp strengthening procedures) composed of complex scalp-nourishing medications when necessary. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Regenera ActivaIs Regenera Activa painful? Can I return to daily life immediately after the procedure?
At Golden Diamant, we explain Regenera Activa as a procedure with relatively little pain that allows an immediate return to daily life afterward. It is performed without incisions, and even after dermal extraction, it is completed via injection without any stitches. However, side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Regenera ActivaWhat is the mechanism by which Regenera Activa works on hair loss?
Regenera Activa is a method of inserting progenitor cells capable of differentiating into hair into the area of hair loss. As the microscopic autologous hair follicle cells introduced into the hair loss area differentiate, the treatment aims to enhance the regenerative capacity and viability of hair follicle cells. At Golden Diamant, we particularly recommend this procedure in the early stages of hair loss, and results may vary depending on the individual.

About Golden DiamantWhat is the relationship between Goldenview Plastic Surgery and Golden Diamant?
I performed perioral plastic surgery as the representative director of Goldenview Plastic Surgery, and in January 2025, I opened Golden Diamant Plastic Surgery Clinic at Cheongdam Square to welcome patients anew. In addition to the perioral and anti-aging surgeries I have performed since my Goldenview days, I now offer combined medical skincare and spa programs. I also continue to use the name of our representative surgery, the 'Goldenview Lip Corner Lift,' just as before.
Does the head surgeon really handle everything personally, from consultation to surgery?
Yes. At Golden Diamant, I, the head surgeon, personally conduct the entire process from consultation and design to surgery. This is because I believe the person who plans the surgery should be the one who actually performs it. Consultations are also conducted 1:1, and the surgical plan is created considering the proportions and harmony of the face.
Do you also explain side effects or risks before surgery?
Yes. Because every surgery and procedure involves a certain degree of risk, during the consultation I explain the risks that may arise from surgery and guide you so you can prepare for side effects in advance. I believe a good surgery is one where not only the outcome is good, but also one where the patient fully understands the potential risks before deciding to proceed. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
How will I be contacted if I leave an inquiry on the website?
If you leave your name, contact information, and your questions under "Online Consultation Inquiry," we will review them and contact you via your preferred method. You can choose your contact method from phone, KakaoTalk, or email, and email, contact method, and preferred visit date are optional fields. The information you provide is used solely for consultation purposes and is retained for 1 year after the consultation concludes.
What are your clinic hours and closed days?
Clinic hours are 10:00~19:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 10:00~21:00 on Fridays, and 10:00~16:00 on Saturdays. We are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as on public holidays. During clinic hours, contacting us by phone (02-6480-7800) is the fastest way.
DirectionsPlease let me know the clinic location and nearby subway stations.
Golden Diamant is located on the 3rd floor of Building A, Cheongdam Square, 420 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It is adjacent to Hakdong Intersection, near Exit 4 of Apgujeongrodeo Station on the Suin-Bundang Line and Exit 4 of Gangnam-gu Office Station on Line 7. You can also check this along with our operating hours under "Directions" on our website.
DirectionsWhat do you consider to be good plastic surgery?
I believe that proper plastic surgery is finding a beautiful image that suits you naturally, just like a custom-tailored garment rather than ready-to-wear clothing. Therefore, rather than uniform plastic surgery that follows trends, I pursue surgery that fills in areas of concern while maintaining overall harmony. Golden Diamant's goal is to refine your natural beauty without damaging your own tissues as much as possible, and for delicate areas like the mouth area in particular, I consider not overdoing it to be the most important factor.
About Golden DiamantIn what cases do patients receive the scar care program?
It is provided when the medical staff determines that scar care is necessary due to incisions, tissue harvesting, or other factors. It begins from the 2nd week after surgery, and depending on the recovery condition, up to 3 sessions of the scar care program utilizing Fraxel laser and scar-reducing medications are performed. The degree of scarring and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
What happens if a scar remains even after the basic care?
If a scar remains or additional treatment is needed after basic scar care, our medical staff will personally examine the condition and guide you through the necessary methods among more than 6 types of lasers, more than 4 types of medical treatments, and stem cell therapy. Because scars become more difficult to treat the longer they are left unmanaged, care within approximately 2 months—when collagen remodels after the wound heals—is important. Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Is there a separate recovery room where I can rest after surgery?
Yes. Golden Diamant has private, single-patient recovery rooms where you can rest and recover by yourself after surgery. Within the clinic, there are a main hall, two consultation rooms, the head director's office, an operating room, a procedure room, a waiting area, restrooms and shower facilities, and a private spa room. You can preview photos of these spaces under "Clinic Tour" on our website.
Clinic TourWhere can I view before-and-after photos of surgeries?
In accordance with the Medical Service Act, before-and-after surgery photos are disclosed only to registered members; once you log in, you can view before-and-after photos by procedure. Photos are posted with the patient's prior consent, and identifiable areas are masked. Because we only post materials that have undergone consent verification and clinic review, they are released by procedure as they become ready. Results and recovery times may vary depending on the individual.
Can foreigners also submit consultation inquiries on the website?
The Golden Diamant website is available in English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Mongolian, Russian, Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Arabic, in addition to Korean. If you leave your contact information and questions under "Online Consultation Inquiry," we will review them and contact you via your preferred method. An online inquiry is not medical treatment; an accurate diagnosis and consultation take place after visiting the clinic.
How are the needles and syringes used for injection procedures managed?
At Golden Diamant, we aim to reduce skin damage by using micro-cannula needles that have blunt tips and dispense medication from the side of the needle. In addition, single-use syringes that come into direct contact with the skin are never reused. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Lip & Perioral Surgery23
How is a Lateral Lip Lift performed?
First, the design for the lateral area is planned in 3 stages: Balance Design, Photo Design, and Custom Design. Next, along the design pattern, the skin on the outer lips is excised, elevated, and fixed. The procedure is finalized with multi-layer complex suturing of 4 layers or more, along with micro-suturing, to reduce the burden of postoperative scarring and side effects and to extend the longevity of the results. The incision range covers more than 3/4 of the outer lips, excluding the upper lip peaks (Cupid's bow area), expanding the outer lip areas that were curled inward.
Lateral Lip LiftWhat is the surgical duration, stitch removal schedule, and number of clinic visits for a Lateral Lip Lift?
The surgical duration for a Lateral Lip Lift is 1 hour, and anesthesia is administered as sleep anesthesia / local anesthesia. Stitches are removed 4-5 days after surgery, and clinic visits are 3-5 times. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Lateral Lip LiftDoes a Lateral Lip Lift make the corners of the mouth appear to droop?
During the process of elevating and suturing the outer upper lip, the lip corners may appear relatively lower than before the surgery. In particular, for individuals whose lip corners naturally droop, they may appear to droop further, so a Lip Corner Lift or related procedure is combined if necessary. A Lip Corner Lift is also combined when lip corner elevation or horizontal lip lengthening is needed concurrently. At Golden Diamant, we plan by taking both the lip line correction and the lip corners into consideration. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Lateral Lip LiftIn what cases is Philtrum Augmentation performed?
Philtrum Augmentation is a surgery for concerns caused by a short philtrum. It is recommended for cases of gummy smile where the gums show when smiling; when the philtrum is excessively short and difficult to resolve with dental orthodontic treatment alone; when the philtrum is congenitally short; when the philtrum appears short because the nasal tip is upturned due to contracture after nose surgery; when an improvement in facial proportions is desired because the distance from the eyes to the lips is short; or when the philtrum is too short, making one appear overly childish. For gummy smiles, there is also a non-surgical method of administering Botox to the muscles that lift the upper lip to weaken their strength.
Philtrum AugmentationHow is philtral groove surgery performed?
There are two methods. Philtral Groove Surgery uses a C-curl suturing method, creating a natural C-curl using a specialized suturing technique without dermis grafting or muscle manipulation. Philtral groove dimple surgery works on the same principle as Dimple Surgery, creating a philtral groove through a partial incision inside the mouth. Whichever method is used, we design a philtrum type suited to the individual's facial shape and lip line, and establish a surgical plan using photo design and a custom chart that takes the A-U line into account.
Philtral Groove SurgeryWhy does the subnasal sill disappear after philtrum reduction?
There are largely two reasons. First, if the bullhorn-shaped subnasal philtrum reduction incision line extends past the subnasal sill into the inside of the nose, philtral skin shifts into the original subnasal sill position, causing the classic sill shape to disappear and become flat. In this case, mustache hair that was originally on the philtrum may grow on the sill. Second, if someone inherently has a low and weak subnasal sill, and philtrum reduction is performed without surgical techniques to reinforce it while minimizing changes to the low sill, the same phenomenon can occur.
Subnasal Soft-Tissue ReconstructionIn which areas and for what concerns is perioral (mouth area) Botox administered?
Perioral Botox is a procedure that injects Botox into target muscles among the muscles around the mouth to control mouth movements. It is injected into the depressor anguli oris to address drooping mouth corners; into the mentalis muscle to address chin dimpling (cobblestone/pebble chin) where the front chin becomes bumpy when pursing the mouth; into the muscles that elevate the upper lip to treat a gummy smile where excessive gum shows when smiling; and it is also used for mouth asymmetry caused by differences in muscle activity between the left and right sides. At Golden Diamant, we plan this as a 'three-part harmony Botox' that simultaneously considers the depressor anguli oris, mentalis, and levator labii superioris, and we adhere to the principle of using genuine, properly dosed Botox from Allergan USA.
Perioral BotoxCan't I just receive a sufficient amount of corner mouth Botox all at once?
Corner mouth Botox is selectively injected into the depressor anguli oris. When the depressor muscle is weakened, the strength of the muscles that elevate the mouth corners becomes relatively greater, aiming for a brighter and more natural appearance when smiling. What is important is to inject accurately into the target muscle and determine an appropriate dosage considering the activity of that muscle. Therefore, rather than injecting a large amount all at once during the first procedure, we proceed by observing the condition and adding as much as necessary through a touch-up correction procedure. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Perioral BotoxWhat causes an asymmetrical mouth shape?
An asymmetrical mouth shape is rarely caused by a single factor; in many cases, multiple factors overlap. Typical causes include congenital or acquired facial nerve palsy; facial asymmetry due to differences in facial bone structure and soft tissue or resulting from accidents; differences in the shape or position of the gums, teeth, lips, or mouth corners; and muscular asymmetry, such as left-right differences in the lip levator and depressor muscles or differences in the activity of the levator anguli oris and zygomaticus muscles. At Golden Diamant, we first identify how these causes overlap, and then formulate a plan aimed at correcting deviations at rest and alleviating asymmetry during movement, all while ensuring the functional integrity of the mouth is not compromised.
Mouth Asymmetry CorrectionDoes an asymmetrical mouth shape require surgery, or can it also be corrected with Botox or fillers?
It depends on the cause. If the tilt of the lips is uneven, jaw or gum treatments, or orthodontic care may be necessary, while differences in the shape of the lips themselves can be corrected through surgical procedures such as partial lip reduction or augmentation, mucosal advancement, and Lip Corner Lift. If differences in muscle activity or volume are the primary causes, we first consider balancing muscle strength with Botox and supplementing volume with filler. Mouth shape correction using Botox and fillers can sometimes alleviate symptoms that are difficult to resolve surgically. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Mouth Asymmetry CorrectionHow does the treatment method differ depending on the type of asymmetry?
When the thickness or shape of the lips differs (volume difference or slope), it can be corrected with filler by simultaneously taking into account the lip line, inner mucosal line, and volume differences. When the tilt or length of the lips differs, Botox can be injected into the levator labii superioris (philtrum Botox) or zygomaticus muscle on the side that pulls up more, or into the depressor labii inferioris muscle on the side that pulls down more. If the mentalis muscle is overused to unconsciously close the mouth due to a protruding mouth or a receding chin, mentalis Botox is considered; for asymmetry where the lip corner elevates less when smiling or appears droopy at rest, lip corner Botox and lip corner filler are considered together. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Mouth Asymmetry CorrectionCan mouth exercises or stretching fix mouth asymmetry?
Correcting habits through mouth exercises may bring slight improvement, but in reality, it is not easy to correct and has limitations. This is because asymmetry when speaking or smiling is heavily influenced by differences in muscle activity, such as when the depressor anguli oris muscle on one side is stronger or weaker, or when there is a difference in strength between the left and right depressor labii inferioris muscles. In such cases, we first consider using Botox to balance the muscle strength on both sides or fillers to supplement volume. As Botox and filler treatments are repeated, the maintenance period may become longer and habits may gradually be corrected. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Mouth Asymmetry CorrectionWhat methods are used for Lip Augmentation?
Lip Augmentation is performed using two methods. Lip line augmentation is a method where a gull-wing-shaped incision is made above the upper lip to increase the volume of thin lips and simultaneously correct a drooping lip line. Mucosal advancement is a method where the inner mucosa of the lip is moved forward to roll out (evert) an inward-curled lip to increase volume; it is mainly performed on the lower lip for those whose philtrum and chin are not long, who have clear vermilion borders, and who are sensitive to scarring or prone to keloids. Usually, lip line augmentation is used for the upper lip, and lip line augmentation or mucosal advancement is used for the lower lip. With lip line augmentation, the firm tissue at the border (white roll) may disappear, which can make the side profile look flat, so suturing is performed to slightly elevate that area.
Lip AugmentationWhat is the surgery duration and recovery schedule for Lip Augmentation? What about scarring?
Lip Augmentation is performed under twilight anesthesia (sleep sedation) or local anesthesia, and the surgery time is 1-2 hours. Stitches are removed 4-5 days after surgery, and you will visit the clinic 3-4 times to check your progress. After surgery, we prescribe scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel, and provide a customized aftercare kit tailored to the surgery. When an incision is made along the lip line, the area will feel firm and reddish for a while after stitch removal, and then typically fades and softens over 4-6 months; during this time, you must take care not to open your mouth wide so that the scar becomes less visible. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Lip AugmentationHow is Lip Reduction performed? Will the scar be visible from the outside?
An incision is made on the oral mucosa inside the lip, and after excising the predetermined amount of mucosa, it is delicately sutured with dissolvable threads. Because the incision is made strictly on the inner mucosa and not on the external skin, concerns regarding scarring are minimal due to the characteristics of the surgical site. For those whose mouth and lips are not protruding and only have thick lips, only a portion of the mucosa is removed. However, if the lips are thick and both the mouth and lips protrude together, a portion of the lip muscle is also removed to increase the reduction amount and allow the lips to roll slightly and naturally inward. The surgical site may feel firm initially, but it softens over time. Results and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
Lip ReductionMy lips are thick or my mouth is on the larger side; can they be reduced with Lip Reduction?
Lip Reduction is considered when the lips are overly thick, when the lips appear large relative to the face and you wish to balance the proportions, when the size ratio between the upper and lower lips is unbalanced, or when the shape of the lips has become deformed due to frequent filler procedures. This surgery reduces the thickness and volume of the lips. If the horizontal width of the lips is long, there is no surgical method to shorten that length itself, so during the consultation we also discuss ways to make them appear less long. The amount of reduction is predetermined based on overall facial proportions, aiming for a size and shape that harmonizes with the face.
Lip ReductionWhat is the operation time, suture removal, and recovery process for Lip Reduction? Will my lips lose sensation?
Lip Reduction is performed under twilight anesthesia (sleep anesthesia) or local anesthesia, and the surgery time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Sutures are mainly done with dissolvable threads, but some sutures may need to be removed; suture removal is scheduled 5-7 days after surgery, with 3 follow-up visits to the clinic postoperatively. After Lip Reduction, reduced sensation due to sensory nerve damage inevitably occurs, so the lip sensation may initially feel partially numb and then gradually recovers. You can eat right after the surgery, but please avoid foods that are too spicy, irritating, or hard. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
Lip ReductionHow is Cupid's Bow Surgery different from Cupid's Bow Lip Filler?
While Cupid's Bow Lip Filler is a procedure that injects filler to add volume, Cupid's Bow Surgery is a method that surgically creates volume and three-dimensional definition in the central area of the lip. The mucosa on the inner side of the lip is excised in a pre-designed Cupid's bow shape, followed by specialized suturing to make the central portion prominent, and a dermis graft is combined if necessary. Depending on the condition of the lips, a method tailored to the individual is chosen between advancing the mucosa forward or adding volume through a dermis graft. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Cupid's Bow SurgeryWhat kind of lips are suitable for Cupid surgery?
It is recommended for cases where you want to add three-dimensional definition to flat lips, when the lip line is indistinct and you want to make it sharp and clear, when you desire full and voluminous lips, or when you want a cheerful and lively image. Cupid surgery aims to create a natural wave line by adding volume to the central area of the lips. Even for the same concern, the appropriate surgical method varies depending on lip shape and facial structure; therefore, we first assess the lip type and design the procedure taking into account the balance between the face and lips. Results may vary depending on the individual.
Cupid's Bow SurgeryWhat are the surgery duration, recovery, and post-operative care for Cupid surgery?
Cupid surgery is performed under sleep anesthesia or local anesthesia, and the surgery time is about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Stitch removal takes place on days 5-7, and you will visit the clinic 3 times after surgery. At the end of the surgery, after controlling bleeding and suturing with dissolvable threads, swelling prevention medication is injected; after surgery, scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel are prescribed, and a customized aftercare kit tailored to the surgery is provided. Through this post-operative care, we manage both the recovery process and the outcome together. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery timeline may vary depending on the individual.
Cupid's Bow SurgeryI had a foreign substance injected into my lips a long time ago. Should it be removed even if there are no particular problems right now?
Having a foreign substance inside the lips does not immediately cause problems in all cases, and if the foreign substance does not directly contact the outside, there are cases where there are no major issues. However, unverified substances such as liquid silicone, paraffin, and petroleum jelly (Vaseline) may appear fine on the surface, but over time can cause side effects like shape deformation, inflammation, skin necrosis, and dermatitis; furthermore, if a wound connects them to the outside, the foreign substance can become a source of infection. When deformation begins to set in—such as when the mucosal surface of the lip becomes uneven, small lumps are felt, or frequent swelling or increasing pain occurs—we recommend consulting for removal.
Lip Foreign Body RemovalCan foreign substances in the lips be completely and cleanly removed?
It is extremely difficult to remove foreign substances from inside the lips completely without leaving any residue. This is because, as time passes, they spread between surrounding tissues or adhere to existing tissues, making them difficult to separate, and conservative resection must be performed to avoid damaging major nerves or blood vessels. Therefore, at Golden Diamant, rather than simply removing a large quantity of foreign material, we consider minimizing tissue damage while restoring and preserving the shape of the lips as much as possible to be the core objective. If the amount is large and tissue infiltration is severe, we may remove it gradually across 2~3 sessions without overstraining the tissues. Inflammation, asymmetry, and reduced sensation may occur after surgery, and additional correction may be required. Results and recovery timelines may vary depending on the individual.
Lip Foreign Body RemovalWhere are the incisions made for lip foreign body removal? What are the surgery duration and stitch removal schedule?
The surgical method is determined based on the type and location of the foreign material, as well as the status of any side effects. The standard approach involves making an incision inside the lip mucosa to separate and remove the foreign material from normal tissue. This reduces the burden of visible external scarring, though a feeling of pulling or hardness may persist for a certain period during recovery. For the lower lip, gravity over time causes the foreign material to gather in front of the lip line, making the lower portion protrude; in such cases, removal through an intraoral incision is difficult, so an incision is made along the lip line, with the incision site and suturing decided while considering the possibility of scarring. The surgery takes 1-3 hours under sleep anesthesia or local anesthesia, stitches are removed after 4-6 days, and you will visit the clinic 3-4 times. Recovery times may vary depending on the individual.

What kind of procedure is the One-Day Facelift?
The One-Day Facelift is a mini lifting procedure performed through a small incision of about 2cm inside the hairline near the sideburns. Through this incision, the sagging superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS layer) is meticulously pulled upward using a triangular excision method and anchored, with the surgery being completed including suturing in about 30 minutes. Rather than pulling just the skin, it aims to lift and fixate from the epidermis down to the SMAS layer, while also repositioning subcutaneous fat beneath the skin to restore volume.
Golden Diamant One-Day LiftWho is a good candidate for the One-Day Facelift, and how does it differ from a standard facelift?
The One-Day Facelift is tailored to improve sagging in the central face (midface) during the early stages of aging (in one's 30~40s), when fine wrinkles begin to form. Its target candidates and treatment scope differ from standard Lifting Surgery, which addresses the entire mid and lower face in individuals in their 50~60s with deeply etched wrinkles. We also inform you that the effect and duration of results may be less compared to a conventional facelift. Ultimately, the appropriate surgery varies depending on your specific facial concerns and priorities, which we decide together during your consultation. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant One-Day LiftHow long does the T-Lift take, and can I return to daily activities immediately?
The T-Lift takes about 1 hour and is performed under sleep anesthesia or local anesthesia. It requires 1 clinic visit, and the recovery period is guided as about 2~3 days. Therefore, it is well-suited for those who want a lifting procedure without the burden of surgery, or those who need to return to daily life quickly after the procedure. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Golden Diamant T-LiftWhat kind of surgery is an endoscopic forehead and brow lift?
It is a surgery in which 3~5 small incisions are made in the scalp behind the hairline, an endoscope is inserted, and the subcutaneous tissue and periosteum are dissected while viewing on a monitor to avoid complex nerves. An Endotine device, a fixating material with tines, is placed into the dissected area, and the dissected skin is pulled upward toward the scalp and firmly secured. Through this, the goal is to improve both thick, deep forehead wrinkles and sagging eyebrows and eyelids together. Endotine is a material that does not remain in the body and is gradually absorbed internally.
Endoscopic Forehead (Brow) LiftBotox and lasers don't seem to smooth out my forehead wrinkles well. Would a forehead lift be right for me?
We recommend this procedure to those who look older due to thick, deep expression lines on the forehead, those with severe drooping of the eyebrows and eyelids, and those concerned about wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes, or between the eyebrows (glabella). Endoscopic forehead-brow lift is a surgery aimed at improving even deep, thick wrinkles that are difficult to improve with lasers or Botox, so it can also be considered by those whose wrinkles did not improve as much as desired with Botox and lasers. The surgical method and recovery will be explained during your consultation, along with an individualized custom design. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Endoscopic Forehead (Brow) LiftWho is Forehead Reduction suitable for, and how much can it be reduced?
We recommend it to those who cover their foreheads with bangs because they are wide, those who want to neatly refine their hairline, those who want to reduce their facial length, those concerned about an M-shaped hairline, and those who are fearful of hair transplantation or did not see results after a transplant. After assessing your current condition and skeletal structure, we design it taking into account the upper, middle, and lower facial proportions (1 : 1 : 0.8), dissect the scalp, and excise a certain amount of forehead skin (approximately 2cm). The actual amount excised is determined according to individual facial proportions and features.
Forehead ReductionHow is scarring managed after Forehead Reduction, and how long does recovery take?
A zigzag incision that minimizes hair follicle damage is made along the hairline, the upper and lower scalp are pulled and secured with Endotine, and then connected with special sutures. Instead of skin staples, the skin is micro-sutured with ultra-fine thread, aiming to make scars less noticeable once hair grows in and to maintain a soft hairline with baby hairs appropriately preserved on the forehead. It takes about 2~3 hours under twilight anesthesia (sleep sedation), stitches are removed after 5~7 days, and the recovery period is 1~2 weeks. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Forehead ReductionHow does Point Botox work to lift the face?
The face contains both lifting muscles and downward-pulling muscles, and changes in this balance alter facial shape and expressions. Point Botox utilizes this balance to improve aging-related sagging; it is a mid-face lifting procedure that uses Botox to reduce the strength of the downward-pulling muscles, allowing the lifting muscles to relatively take over. It is precisely injected into the frontalis, corrugator supercilii, procerus, and orbicularis oculi muscles, combining direct intramuscular injections with densely placed intradermal skin Botox techniques to also target fine wrinkles. The procedure takes 10~15 minutes under topical numbing cream, and same-day recovery is possible. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Point BotoxWho is a good candidate for Nefertiti Botox?
Nefertiti Botox is a procedure that densely administers Botox into the depressor anguli oris, mentalis, and platysma muscles—which pull down the mouth area—to weaken the downward pull on the jawline and naturally lift the jawline. It is suitable for those in their 20~30s whose jawline has lost definition and sharpness, those in their 40~50s who have neck wrinkles and drooping mouth corners not yet severe enough to require lifting surgery, and those who wish to lift the jaw and neck lines without surgery. However, there are limitations; depending on the individual's condition, fat-dissolving injections, liposuction, or a neck lift may be necessary. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Nefertiti BotoxAre there any precautions to follow after Point Botox or Nefertiti Botox?
Mild bruising or swelling may occur after the procedure, but it will subside naturally over time. Please wait about 2~3 hours before applying makeup or washing your face, and avoid rubbing the area or lying down for 3~4 hours to prevent the product from spreading. For about 1 week, please refrain from drinking alcohol, smoking, visiting saunas, receiving meridian (deep tissue) massages, and strenuous exercise. Occasionally, the diffusion of the product may cause facial expressions to appear slightly asymmetrical, but this can resolve over time, and a touch-up procedure is possible 2~3 weeks after the initial treatment. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.

Does the eye surgery method differ depending on age?
Yes. Because the degree of skin tissue aging and personal goals can vary by age, Golden Diamant selects surgical methods tailored to skin thickness, fat volume, eye shape, age group, and more. For those in their 10s~30s, non-incisional eyelid surgery (buried suture method), incisional eyelid surgery, and epicanthoplasty/lateral/upper/lower canthoplasty are mainly considered; for those in their 40s~70s, Upper Blepharoplasty, Lower Blepharoplasty, Sub-Brow Lift, and Under-Eye Fat Repositioning are primarily considered. During the consultation, we analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your eyes to determine a method that harmonizes with your face.
Eye SurgeryHow should I care for myself at home after double eyelid surgery?
Since double eyelid surgery is performed under local anesthesia and you return home on the same day, please prepare items such as glasses, a scarf, or a hat to wear when going home. Keep the surgical site clean, disinfect it once a day, and apply antibiotic ointment. To reduce swelling and bruising, it is recommended to avoid lowering your head, lying face down, or engaging in strenuous physical exertion, and to sleep with your head elevated on pillows. Apply cold compresses with a cool pack for 2 hours a day for 3 days, and take anti-inflammatory medications and painkillers for 3 days.
Eye SurgeryWhen does the swelling go down after eye surgery, and when can I wear contact lenses and apply makeup?
Swelling varies from person to person, but usually about 60% subsides after 7 days, and it settles into place after 1-3 months. Contact lenses can be worn after 2 weeks, and makeup can be applied after one week. Please wash your face with a wet towel until the stitches are removed; washing your face normally is possible after the stitches are removed. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Eye SurgeryMy eyelids are sagging. How do Upper Blepharoplasty and Sub-Brow Lift differ?
Upper Blepharoplasty is a method that addresses both aesthetic concerns and the functional issue of obstructed vision caused by sagging eyelids. An incision is made along the designed double eyelid line to remove an appropriate amount of wrinkled skin and unnecessary fat. A Sub-Brow Lift is a method where sagging eyelid skin is excised below the eyebrow, lifted, and fixed into place; since the incision is located beneath the eyebrow, it is suitable for those concerned about visible scarring. Both methods take about 1-2 hours under local anesthesia, and stitches are removed after 4-5 days.
Eye SurgeryMy under-eye area looks bulging and hollowed. What kind of surgery is performed for this?
Under-Eye Fat Repositioning is a method where an incision is made through the conjunctiva inside the eyelid to shift the protruding fat into the hollowed areas over the periosteum, and the weakened orbital septum is secured once more. It aims for a smooth under-eye area while preserving natural love band (aegyo-sal). If there is also sagging skin, Lower Blepharoplasty can remove the drooping skin while repositioning the fat, and lift the sagging midface cheek area to improve the hollow between the lower eyelid and the front cheek. Both methods are performed under local anesthesia and take about 1-2 hours. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Eye SurgeryIn which cases is Alar Reduction performed, and what anesthesia is used?
It is considered when the wide alar width makes the nose appear blunt and low, when the shape of the alae is not harmonious with the face, when the bridge of the nose is high but the nasal tip is flared and lacks dimension, or when drooping alae make the nose appear long and low. The surgery takes about 1 hour and is performed under twilight anesthesia (sedation) or local anesthesia. Stitches are removed after 7 days, with 1-2 clinic visits. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Alar ReductionWhat kind of surgery is Alar Lift?
Alar Lift is a surgery in which drooping nasal alae are designed to match the facial balance, excised, raised upward, and secured. Necessary incision lines are designed and made along the inside of the nasal alae, the nasal sill (floor), and the lateral mucosal areas. The mucosa is dissected and mobilized, then sutured superomedially (inward and upward) taking into account anatomical alignment and aesthetic results. Rather than raising them excessively, overall balance such as facial harmony and the shape of the philtrum is considered, and in some cases, Alar Reduction may be performed concurrently.
Alar LiftMy nostrils are very visible from the front; can this be improved with Nostril Lowering?
Nostril Lowering is a surgery that lowers the position of the soft tissues around the nostrils to reduce frontal exposure of the nose. It is considered when the nasal tip is fine but the nostrils appear pulled upward, when a lot of the nostrils are visible from the front, or when nostril exposure has worsened after tip rhinoplasty. Rather than excessively reducing or lowering the nostrils, the plan is made by looking at the overall facial balance, including the harmony of the face and the shape of the philtrum. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Nostril LoweringWho is Paranasal Augmentation suitable for?
Paranasal Augmentation is a surgery that inserts an implant into the sunken areas beside the nose to improve nasolabial folds and add three-dimensional volume. It is considered when deep nasolabial folds beside the nose make you look older, or when the midface is recessed, making the mouth appear protruding. Through an intraoral incision or an intranasal (inside the nostril) incision, a silicone implant customized to each individual's face is inserted and double-fixed to reduce the risk of displacement. The surgery takes about 1 hour under sleep anesthesia or local anesthesia, and the recovery period is 1-2 weeks. Results and recovery periods may vary depending on the individual.
Paranasal AugmentationWhat does Nasolabial Angle Surgery change?
The Nasolabial Angle is the angle where the tip of the nose meets the upper lip, and an angle between the nasal floor and the upper lip of approximately 90~95 degrees for men and approximately 95~105 degrees for women is considered ideal. If the Nasolabial Angle is narrow due to a drooping nasal tip, the angle is widened by lifting the tip of the nose; if the Nasolabial Angle is wide due to an upturned nasal tip, the angle is narrowed by lowering the tip of the nose. However, rather than forcing the angle to fit, the surgery is planned by taking the overall balance into account, including facial harmony and the shape of the philtrum.
Nasolabial AngleCan Nasolabial Angle Surgery be performed together with other procedures?
Yes. If you wish to achieve more harmonious facial lines, you can consult about combining it with tip plasty, Nostril Lowering, or a Lip Corner Lift. Nasolabial Angle Surgery is considered in cases where the nose appears upturned like a pug nose, where the mouth looks protruding, or where the line appears unnatural after nasal tip surgery. The surgery takes about 1-2 hours under sleep anesthesia or local anesthesia, stitches are removed after 7 days, and 1-2 clinic visits are required. The occurrence of side effects and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Nasolabial AngleHow is Chin Implant Surgery performed?
It is a method where an incision is made inside the mouth, and an implant such as silicone, Gore-Tex, or Medpor is customized to fit the shape of the chin and placed in front of the chin bone. Because an overly small oval implant can cause problems over the long term due to bone changes, Golden Diamant performs surgery using wing-shaped implants. Since the implant is inserted through an intraoral incision, concerns about scarring can be reduced. The surgery takes about 1 hour under sleep anesthesia or local anesthesia, and the recovery period is 1-2 weeks. Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
Chin ImplantHow do you decide between incisional and non-incisional Earlobe Reshaping?
Whether to proceed with an incisional or non-incisional approach depends on the shape of your earlobes and the degree to which they are attached to the jawline. Incisional Earlobe Reshaping involves an incision along the lower line of the earlobe to reshape it into a rounded form, while non-incisional Earlobe Reshaping creates a rounded shape by fixing three points—the top, bottom, and back of the earlobe—with sutures. Both methods check for asymmetry between both ears and aim for a natural earlobe shape.
Earlobe Reshaping (Incisional / Non-incisional)In what cases is pixie ear corrected, and when are the stitches removed?
It is considered when the earlobes are sharp and thin, when earrings do not look good because the earlobes lack volume, or when the earlobes have deformed into pixie ears as an aftereffect of a previous facelift. The surgery takes about 30 minutes and is performed under twilight (sleep) or local anesthesia; stitches are removed on day 10, and 3 clinic visits are required. The occurrence of side effects and the recovery period may vary depending on the individual.
Earlobe Reshaping (Incisional / Non-incisional)What is the procedure for PRP fat grafting, and which areas can it be applied to?
First, fat is harvested and centrifuged to extract only pure fat, and the patient's blood is drawn and centrifuged to separate plasma and platelets. These are mixed with the pure fat and introduced into areas requiring volume using a micro-injection technique that minimizes damage to surrounding tissues. It is considered for individuals seeking to improve hollow cheeks, nasolabial folds, sunken eyelids, a hollow forehead, or a receding chin. The surgery takes about 1-2 hours under sleep anesthesia, stitches are removed in 5-7 days, and 2 clinic visits are required.
PRP Fat GraftingHow is the position of the dimple determined?
Generally, the ideal position for a dimple is considered to be the point where the corner of the mouth intersects with the vertical line descending from the pupil. However, because the most flattering location differs depending on individual preference and facial shape, we determine the position of the dimple line and adjust the width through consultation by considering the overall shape of the face. We design with the goal of creating a dimple that appears naturally when making facial expressions or smiling.
Dimple CreationWho is a suitable candidate for face and neck liposuction?
It is considered for those whose double chin is prominent due to a structurally short chin, those whose skin and muscles are sagging and have accumulated chin fat due to aging, those who are troubled because a previous double chin liposuction did not bring improvement, those whose facial contours have disappeared due to rapid weight gain, or those with excess fat throughout the face including buccal fat, double chin, and jawline. The method uses a micro-cannula to press on the cheek area and remove protruding fat masses, directly eliminating fat cells.
Facial / Neck LiposuctionWhat changes can I expect from facial liposuction, and what precautions should I be aware of?
The face and neck are areas where even small changes can significantly alter your impression. The goal is to reduce facial width and define contours from the front, while creating a clear boundary between the jawline and neck from the profile. However, because facial nerves and blood vessels pass through the fat layer in the face, meticulous and delicate surgical technique is required. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and the occurrence of side effects and the recovery period may vary depending on the individual.

What kind of breast augmentation is Motiva Preservé?
Motiva Preservé is a surgical method in which Motiva implants are inserted using specially designed instruments, aiming to reduce surgical trauma and preserve normal tissue (Tissue Preservation). An incision and tunnel are created using a Preservé-dedicated director, the tissue is expanded with a balloon, the Motiva implant is inserted, and the incision is sutured. At Golden Diamant, we use Motiva Ergonomix® 1 implants, and I personally handle the entire process from consultation to surgery.
Motiva PreservéHow is it different from conventional breast augmentation surgery?
While conventional breast augmentation at Golden Diamant dissected tissue using an electrocautery device, Preservé dissects tissue with a balloon. Unlike the conventional dual-plane method, it is a minimally invasive surgery centered on tissue protection without cutting the pectoralis major muscle. In addition, whereas nipple sensation could be partially damaged in conventional surgery, Preservé has a higher likelihood of preserving it. However, results may vary depending on the patient's condition, surgical extent, implant size, and the medical team's judgment, and side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur.
Motiva PreservéHow much scarring is left after Preservé breast augmentation?
Preservé is performed through an incision of approximately 2~3cm, which is smaller than the 4-5cm incision used in conventional breast augmentation at Golden Diamant. We guide patients that the scar length is around 2.5~3.5cm (average 3.0cm). After surgery, scar prevention medication and scar treatment gel are prescribed, and if deemed necessary by the medical staff, a scar care program is provided. Side effects such as bleeding, swelling, and scarring may occur, and recovery times may vary by individual.
Motiva PreservéWhat are the surgery duration, anesthesia method, and recovery time?
Preserve takes approximately 20-40 minutes from the start of the incision to the completion of suturing, and the procedure is performed under twilight anesthesia (conscious sedation) or local anesthesia. Light daily activities are possible on the same day or the following day, though recovery varies from person to person (conventional surgery takes 1-2 weeks). The exact duration and recovery period may vary depending on patient condition, surgical extent, implant size, anesthesia method, and medical judgment, and the schedule and surgical technique may be adjusted based on the results of a thorough 1:1 consultation.
Motiva PreservéAre there cases where Preserve is not suitable?
Yes. Preserve may be limited if you desire a very large breast size or have insufficient breast tissue. In such cases, subfascial breast augmentation or the dual-plane method may be more suitable in terms of structural stability. For this reason, starting from the consultation stage, I examine skin elasticity, rib cage width, breast tissue density, and other factors to establish a surgical plan tailored to your body type, and I personally take full responsibility for consultation, surgery, and postoperative care.
Motiva PreservéWhat implants are used in the Preserve procedure?
At Golden Diamant, we use Motiva's Ergonomix® 1 implants for Preserve surgery. The implants are inserted using specially designed dedicated instruments, with the goal of reducing surgical trauma and preserving normal tissue. The surgical design is customized for each individual, taking into account body shape, skin elasticity, and even lifestyle, and I personally oversee the consultation, surgery, and postoperative care. How are Ultherapy and Thermage different? Which one is right for me?
The two procedures differ in their principles and depth of action. Ultherapy delivers high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) down to the SMAS (fascial) layer with the goal of improving facial sagging and refining facial contours, while Thermage evenly delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy from the epidermis to the dermis to treat fine lines and manage overall skin elasticity. In terms of pain, Thermage tends to be relatively less painful compared to Ultherapy. If your primary concerns are loss of elasticity and facial contours, Ultherapy is recommended; if you are concerned with fine wrinkles and overall elasticity, Thermage is recommended, and the two procedures are sometimes combined depending on skin type and individual concerns.
Ulthera · ThermageI don't know which one to get among INMODE, ONDA, and Olewave.
Because these three devices differ in their mechanisms of action and target areas for improvement, we guide you to the more suitable device after an in-person consultation evaluating your facial fat amount, skin thickness, direction of sagging, and skin condition. INMODE targets fat in the double chin, jawline, and lower face using vacuum suction and radiofrequency (RF), while ONDA mainly addresses submental fat and skin laxity using 2.45GHz microwaves. Olewave utilizes an extracorporeal shock wave method without thermal stimulation, making it an option for those who feel burdened by the heat sensations of radiofrequency or ultrasound. If necessary, the distinct roles of each device can be combined.
INMODE · ONDA · OlewaveWhen will I feel the effects of INMODE, ONDA, and Olewave, and how many sessions do I need?
Although there are individual differences, some patients feel a tightening sensation immediately after the procedure, and gradual improvement can be expected over 2~4 weeks. Depending on your condition, we recommend around 3 sessions at 1-month intervals or regular maintenance management. The procedure takes about 20~30 minutes after applying numbing cream, and patients often find the sensation tolerable. Results and recovery times may vary depending on the individual.
INMODE · ONDA · OlewaveHow many laser hair removal sessions do I need to receive?
It depends on hair thickness and density, the growth cycle of each area, and previous treatment responses. The Apogee+ is a 755nm Alexandrite laser that responds better to hair in the growth phase, making it difficult to reduce all hair in a single session and often requiring multiple repeated treatments. Rather than mechanically repeating a predetermined number of sessions, Golden Diamant checks the condition of the skin and remaining hair at each session to adjust the next settings and intervals. Please do not pluck hairs before the procedure, and shave instead.
How much recovery time is needed for CO2 Fraxel?
It depends on energy, density, and skin response. After the procedure, redness, heat sensation, swelling, oozing, fine scabs, and brown color changes may appear, and these changes can persist for several days or more, so skin type and past hyperpigmentation reactions are also considered together. During recovery, do not forcefully peel off scabs, and thoroughly maintain moisturizing and sun protection. If you have an important schedule, it is recommended to plan with ample time to spare, and recovery timing may vary depending on the individual.
Is CureJet a needle-free procedure?
CureJet is a jet-injection device that delivers drugs or active ingredients into the skin using a micro-jet driven by air pressure instead of conventional injection needles. Genuine nozzles are single-use medical devices, and Golden Diamant strictly adheres to the principle of one per person, single-use. However, not all pores and scars are treated with CureJet alone, so for deep or tethered scars, other approaches such as fractional lasers, needle RF, or subcision may take priority or be combined. Temporary redness, swelling, fine pinpoint marks, or bruising may appear after the procedure.
Does an Exosome procedure directly inject stem cells?
No. It is different from treatments that directly inject stem cells themselves. Golden Diamant's Exosome program is based on ASCE+ SRLV developed by ExoCoBio, which is a professional skin solution formulated by isolating and purifying exosomes from stem cell conditioned media using ExoSCRT™ technology. Whether and when it is applied is determined after comprehensively evaluating the skin barrier condition, dryness, redness, and history of recent laser or energy-based procedures.
ExosomeWhat kind of procedure is Rejuran, and how is it different from fillers?
Rejuran is a PN-based biomaterial for tissue restoration, classified as a Skin Booster at Golden Diamant. While fillers are mainly used to supplement volume and contours, Rejuran aims to improve the skin and fine lines. However, depending on whether fine lines are due to dryness, heavily influenced by facial expressions, or caused by the skin itself appearing thin, other procedures may be needed first rather than approaching it with Rejuran alone, which we evaluate during consultation. Detailed approval and ingredient information for the product can be verified during your consultation.
RejuranHow is Rejuran HB different from standard Rejuran?
Rejuran HB (HB Plus) is a Skin Booster composed of PN combined with hyaluronic acid and the local anesthetic lidocaine. However, the name HB does not automatically make it the better choice; we evaluate skin dryness, skin thinness, the location of fine lines, and even pain sensitivity to determine whether standard Rejuran or HB Plus is more suitable. Because it contains lidocaine, please be sure to inform us in advance if you have any history of hypersensitivity to it.
Rejuran HBCan I get Rejuran i for under-eye dark circles or hollowness?
For under-eye concerns, we begin by distinguishing the cause. Hollowness can be a volume issue, dark circles can be a combination of pigmentation, blood vessels, and shadows, and fine lines are heavily influenced by skin thickness and dryness. Rejuran i is an option that addresses the skin and fine lines, whereas insufficient volume may be supplemented with fillers; therefore, if fillers, Botox, or lasers are more appropriate, we do not insist solely on Rejuran i. Swelling and bruising can be more noticeable around the eyes than in other areas.
Rejuran iDoes Juvelook create volume immediately after the procedure?
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers that fill space immediately, Juvelook is a collagen booster procedure that induces the skin to produce collagen on its own. The porous microparticles of the PDLLA component gradually decompose within the body, inducing self-collagen synthesis. While individual results may vary, patients generally feel their skin becoming firmer starting from 1~2 weeks, with volume gradually building up around one month later. Three sessions are recommended, and results may vary depending on the individual.
Juvelook (Volume)How is Radiesse administered, and should I be concerned about nodules?
Radiesse is a procedure that creates an elasticity support structure using a hyperdilution technique, in which the CaHA (calcium hydroxyapatite) component is diluted and injected, inducing self-collagen and elastin production over time. Because it is a particulate component, there is a possibility of particle clumping; therefore, at Golden Diamant, we measure skin thickness and sagging to determine the dilution ratio and injection points tailored to the skin's condition. The procedure takes about 30 minutes~1 hour with cream anesthesia or local anesthesia, and 3 sessions are recommended. Results and recovery time may vary depending on the individual.
RadiesseHow do the ingredients of Re2O differ from Juvelook and Radiesse?
Re2O is a procedure aimed at improving skin density and complexion by replenishing the dermal layer with hADM (human acellular dermal matrix), a human-derived dermal component. While Juvelook (HA+PDLLA) or Radiesse (CaHA) focus on volume and collagen production, Re2O differs in that it directly replenishes the dermal structure. At Golden Diamant, we distinguish between inner dryness and decreased elasticity to determine the appropriate depth for each area; the procedure takes about 20~40 minutes with cream or local anesthesia, and 3 sessions are recommended.
Re2OHow is Skin Botox different from regular Botox?
While regular Botox treats wrinkles by injecting botulinum toxin directly into the facial expression muscles, Skin Botox is a method where micro-amounts are injected shallowly and densely into the thin layer of the skin (intradermally). It aims to manage skin texture, skin tone, fine lines, and pore concerns together, and changes in skin texture and elasticity may gradually appear starting 1~2 weeks after the procedure. The procedure takes about 10~15 minutes after topical anesthetic cream, and results may vary depending on the individual.
Skin BotoxHow do square jaw or calf Botox work to change body lines?
Square jaw Botox is a treatment that injects Botox into the masseter muscle, while calf and trapezius Botox inject it into their respective muscles to relax them. The principle is that muscle size decreases as the relaxed muscles are used less. Square jaw Botox is recommended for those whose jawlines are prominent due to overdeveloped masticatory muscles, or those with severe teeth grinding during sleep. The timing and extent of the effects vary depending on the individual.
BotoxAre there any precautions to take after getting Botox?
Please apply makeup or wash your face preferably 2~3 hours after the procedure, and it is recommended not to rub the treated area or lie down for 3~4 hours so that the drug does not spread. Please avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas, meridian massage, and strenuous exercise for about 1 week after the procedure. Mild bruising and swelling may occur, but they will disappear naturally over time; if severe redness or swelling persists in the treated area, please contact the clinic immediately. Recovery times may vary depending on the individual.
Botox*Side effects such as bleeding / swelling / scarring may occur
*However, whether side effects occur may differ from person to person, and recovery times may vary.
