Alar reduction!
We recommend it if you have these concerns!

  1. 01Where the nostril wings are wide so the nose looks blunt and low, giving a somewhat naive impression
  2. 02Where the shape of the nostril wings is not in harmony with the face as a whole
  3. 03Where the bridge is high but the tip spreads, so the face looks flat and lacks definition
  4. 04Where drooping nostril wings make the nose look long and low

What is Golden Diamant alar reduction?

The ideal alae as Golden Diamant sees them

Ideal alae are about 1/5 of the face in proportion and, seen from below,
form an equilateral triangle with the nostril length about 2/3.
But because facial proportions and nose shapes differ from person to person,
at Golden Diamant we consider the overall shape of the nose and its harmony
with the face through one-to-one consultation, to create
refined alae at the most ideal proportion.

Diagram of ideal alar proportions — the front of the face divided into five vertical sections shows the alar width occupying one section, and in the circular enlargement beside it the nasal base is outlined as a white dotted equilateral triangle whose height is divided 1/3 and 2/3 to mark the nostril length

Wide nostril wings made soft and refined!

Where the nostril wings are large and spread widely to the sides, the nose looks lower and
can give a heavy, unrefined image.
Alar reduction is surgery that draws wide nostril wings in slimly,
turning them into ideal alae that give a refined impression.
Based on rich experience and know-how, Golden Diamant's
alar reduction is carried out individually, using the appropriate surgical method —
nostril reduction, elevation of the alar base, correction of alar asymmetry —
so it delivers a face with definition and nothing awkward about it.

The Golden Diamant alar reduction method

The method of excising the skin of the nostril wing

Where the skin or soft tissue of the nostril wing is abundant so the wings look wide

According to the thickness and spread of the nostril wings and the size of the nostrils, the skin at the border
where the ala meets the cheek is excised and re-sutured to narrow it.
Immediately after surgery the incision line looks red, but after two to three months it is barely visible.

Circular front diagram of the nostril wings — a fine incision below each nostril, with two strands of suture joining the two incisions and drawing them towards the centre

The method of tying the inside of the nostril wings together (non-incisional alar reduction)

Where the nostril wings are not badly spread and only the lower part of the nostrils is wide

A surgical method that makes a fine incision below the nostrils and uses a suture between
the two nostrils to draw them towards the centre. The incision scar remains at the border between
the underside of the nose and the philtrum, so after surgery it is barely visible from the front.

※ Side effects such as bleeding, swelling and scarring may occur
※ However, whether side effects occur may differ from person to person, and recovery times may vary.

Golden Diamant stays with you through recovery

Golden Diamant continues to monitor your recovery even after surgery or a procedure is finished.

Where the medical team judges that scar care is needed because of an incision or tissue harvesting, a scar care programme using Fraxel laser and scar-reducing medication is provided up to three times at no additional cost, according to the state of recovery.

If a scar remains after basic care or further treatment is needed, the medical team checks the condition in person and advises on the care required from among more than six lasers, more than four medications and stem cell treatment.

We do not stop at the surgery or procedure; we check the course of recovery carefully and continue the care that is needed.

Scar care equipment including a Fraxel laser, and vials of the medications used
  1. 01An aftercare kit tailored to each operation is provided
  2. 02Scar-prevention medication and scar treatment gel are prescribed
  3. 03Where the medical team judges it necessary, a scar care programme such as Fraxel laser is run up to three times from the second week after surgery
  4. 04Where further treatment is needed, a scar treatment programme is run
